THE LOS ANGELES PROJECT

 

Aim: to build a huge "as comprehensive as possible" website about the Metropolitan Area of Los Angeles documenting immense amount of information in an one stop accessible user friendly website.

 

CATEGORIES OF INTEREST OF LOS ANGELES (to document)

-Architecture (beaux arts, art deco, modern, googie, roadside, and the scene in general)

-History (how Los Angeles would be like if you were living there in 1940)

-Aerospace History (documenting all the planes designed and/or built in L.A., how L.A. was the aerospace capital of the world)

-Music History and scene (Jazz scene, Rock scene, etc....)

-Culture (Beach, Punk, Car, Valley Girl, etc....)

-Murals (top muralists in L.A., high profile mural works, fun facts, etc...)

-Myths (and to answer the negative ones)

-public sculptures (downtown and scattered all over)

-Massive Billboards (Sunset strip, etc...)

-Name signs/Vintage Signs (name signs that adorn the tops of buildings and their visual appeal)

-Freeways / Transportation (L.A.'s famous freeway interchanges, transportation around L.A. including subway and light rail, etc...

-skyscrapers/highrises (skyline, highrise building account, highrise building history, photos)

-Downtown Los Angeles (districts, interesting places, etc...)

-Los Angeles communities/neighborhoods/districts (FIRST priority)

-Los Angeles Metro Satellite cities (FIRST priority)

-Beautiful Parks (Pacific Palisades, Echo Park, Macarthur Park, Elysian park, etc...)

-Recreational L.A. (San Bernardino mountains, beaches, etc....

-L.A. in sports (team achievements, famous players, players from the L.A. area, the Olympics and L.A. area representation)

-L.A. Landscapes (subtropical lush vegetation, L.A. gardening scene, beautiful residential areas, open public spaces)

-Vistas (from the santa monica/hollywood mountains, including skylines)

-Ethnic areas (document Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Crenshaw, Koreatown, Little India, Little Saigon, etc....)

-L.A. bridges (the L.A. river bridges and bridge architecture, the vincent thomas bridge, etc...)
