Fire Apparatus - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Philadelphia Fire Department has a very interesting assortment of equipment, including tillers, squrts, pumpers, pipelines (which are pumpers that carry primarily supply hose), hazmat trucks, ladders, and airport crash trucks. Refer to the "Pricelist" page on the homepage for prices for prints.

One of the newest pumpers is this 1996 KME with the white roof, the newest paint scheme for Philly equipment. Engine 68 is assigned to the Cuckoo's Nest along with L-13 and ES-4.

Another 1991 Seagrave is seen here and Engine 49 is classified as a pipeline truck because it carries lots of supply hose.

Because of the refineries in the area there are several foam trucks like this one, F-2. This is an unusual Saulsbury/Ford combination and is a 1982 model.

One of the replacements for the old F-2 is F-60, a 2001 KME foam truck.

Also because of the refineries and rail traffic through the area a HazMat truck is always at the ready as seen here with HM-1, a 1996 Saulsbury.

Just one of the huge Oskosh Crash trucks assigned to Philadelphia International Airport, F6 is a 1997 model.

1998 Oskosh Crash truck assigned to Philadelphia International Airport is a little different than most you find. Very similiar in appearance to F6, F-7 has an articulated boom for dispensing foam from an elevated angle.

F9 is used as a brush truck and is a 1990 Ford.

Ready to go "off-roading", this 2000 KME crash/ladder is another of the units found at Philadelphia International Airport. Much like the big city ladders, this one is raised up about 12 inches higher in case it has to go off the road during an aircraft emergency, as well as being a six wheel drive version verses a two wheel drive one.
