The Harvey Volunteer Fire Company stretches from the Mississippi River along the Harvey Canal, southward to Lapalco Blvd. on the Jefferson Parish West Bank. Their area is comprised of residential, small businesses, heavy industry, and marine and rail traffic. Harvey VFC is boardered by Marrero-Harvey, Gould, Marrero-Estelle, Terrytown, and David Crockett fire departments.

"Squad" S-629 is scheduled for a chassie replacement which means that this FL will probably be replaced by an E-One if rumors are true. In this shot it was just recently refurbed for the Harvey Volunteer Fire Department. This Hackney/FL crewcab is equipped with a positive air pressure cab and enought fire fighting equipment on board to handle anything from a small house fire to a large chemical plant emergency.

I love those old Macks. Harvey Vol Fire Co. No.2 rescue vehicle (R-629) is one tuff looking bulldog with the flat nose and boxie equipment compartment. I love the styling and the classic look of the red and silver rims. Unfortunately, this rescue vehicle has been replaced by S-629, also posted on this site.

Seems like all of Jefferson Parish has money to spend on new equipment, finally. This is the newest for the community of Harvey, Louisiana, a 2001 E-One with a 105' ladder. Ladder L-617 is housed on the Gretna side of the Harvey Canal not far from West Jefferson High School.
