Listen up soldiers! You have a mission. That mission is to honour your ancestors who fought for the Confederate States of America. It is also your mission to defend Southern Heritage. Are you up to the challenge?

Learn the following and live by it every day: The Charge of Lt. Gen. Stephen D. Lee, Commanding General, United Confederate Veterans, April 25, 1906, New Orleans, Louisiana: "To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we submit the vindication of the Cause for which we fought; to your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles he loved and which made him glorious and which you also cherish. Remember, it is your duty to see that the true history of the South is presented to future generations."

Do not allow anyone to bring dishonour upon the flag that our ancestors fought and died for. It is not a flag of hate, racism, bigotry or slavery. That is what those who hate us want everyone to believe. That is their agenda. They want us to feel ashamed that our ancestors fought "to perpetuate the institution of slavery." I have three great-great grandfathers who served the Confederacy. Not one of them owned a slave. Therefore, they could not have been fighting to keep their slaves. Could it be that they were fighting to establish a new nation on the North American continent? Could they have been fighting to maintain the rights of the states as guaranteed by the tenth amendment to the Constitution of the United States? The answers to both of these questions has to be "yes".

Learn the following and take it to heart: "I salute the Confederate flag, with affection, reverence, and undying devotion to the cause for which it stands."

To those who say that our flag is a painful reminder of slavery, I ask this: "Are you really that old?" For someone to remember slavery in the United States, they would have to be about 150 years old. While they don't want our flag to remind them of slavery, in textbooks, they insist upon making it THE reason for the illegal northern invasion of the South. There is constant commentary on the subject of slavery in the United States. There are also museums devoted to the institution and tragedy of slavery. Are these not also "reminders"?

If our flag should be banned because of its alleged link to slavery, then what about the Dutch, British, French and Spanish flags? When I was in school, I was taught that the first slaves brought to North America came on ships under the Dutch flag. Later, slaves were brought in under British, French and Spanish flags, and oh yes, the flag of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. I don't hear anyone calling for the banishment of these flags, do you?

If you listen to the NAACP(National Association of Always Complaining People) enough, you might get the feeling that only white people in the South were the only people to ever own slaves. They and their friends in the liberal media always fail to mention (and you can check your history books) that every race of people and every society throughout history has had slaves. We know the Egyptians had slaves as well as the Romans. The Huns who rampaged across the Asian plains had slaves. The Chinese, Japanese, and American Indian tribes had slaves. And let's not forget that tribes in Africa made slaves of those that they defeated in battle. Those tribes would later sell or trade their slaves to the slave traders who would eventually come to the shores of Africa. So why am I supposed to feel guilty about something that everyone else has done at one time or another? Why am I supposed to apologize for something that was over and done with long before I was ever that twinkle in my mother's eye? Well, let me tell you, I don't feel guilty and I will not apologize.

OK, enough about the issue of slavery. Let me ask you this: Was one of your ancestors a soldier or sailor for the Confederate States of America? Are you proud of the fact that they took a stand for what they believed in, a free and independent South? Do you want to honour your ancestor and his ideals? Or, do you want the liberals and history revisionists to distort the truth? Do you want the liberals to tear down the monuments and memorials to our ancestors? Do you want your right to free speech stifled while only the liberals have their say? If you answered "yes" to your ancestors, and "no" to the liberals and revisionists, then what are you waiting for? The Sons of Confederate Veterans needs you now! The United Daughters of the Confederacy needs you now! The League of the South needs you now! Go to my links page and click on their links to get more information on these fine organizations.
