Hyla cinerea: This is an old pic of the ubiquitous green treefrog. If you live near a wooded area, or if you just have some trees in your backyard, you may see these guys plastered on your window after an evening shower. If you go driving at night, you've almost certainly heard them calling (WAV or RealAudio G2). They feed primarily on arthropods and are fed upon by aquatic or semi-aquatic birds, fishes, snakes, and mammals. The males typically call from perches (anything from a tree branch to brickwork over an artificial pond) between April and September. [source: Dundee and Rossman. 1989.
