Think of this dish as lasagna without the assembly; it contains the same ingredients but is easier to put together.
6 ounces cavatelli, radiatore, or other chunky pasta
8 ounces lean ground turkey
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon rosemary
1/2 teaspoon parsley
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 can (15.5 oz) diced tomatoes
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese
Cook the pasta according to package directions, omitting salt if desired; drain and keep warm.
Meanwhile, heat a medium nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the turkey. Add the garlic and spices and cook until fragrant. Stir in the tomatoes and tomato sauce. Reduce the heat to low and simmer 15 minutes.
Stir in cottage cheese and warm pasta. Simmer another 5 to 10 minutes.
