Training: Doreen Bird College for performing Arts in Sidcup, for three years where productions included Godspell, in which she played Joanna.
Theatre: The Wizard of Oz (The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield), Little Red Riding Hood (Bury St. Edmunds), Tours to Birmingham and Coventry in 1982 and 1984 playing Jessie and Duffy in Annie (at age 10), Original cast member of Grease - playing Frenchie. She made her West End debut in Cats (New London Theatre) - playing Demeter, Etcetera and Rumpelteazer in 1991, straight after leaving college.
