Gus: The Theatre Cat

Colors: grey, black
Partner: possibly Jellylorum
Family: possibly father or mate to Jellylorum
Friends: all the cats
Enemies: old age
Nameorigin: “Gus” is short for Asparagus
Video Cast: Sir John Mills
Specialties: his acting
Personality: sweet, loving, sentimental
Other: An old Theatre Cat who has played every possible part, but now has palsy and is very poor. Gus tells of his greatest theatrical triumphs with Jellylorum who may be his daughter or mate, and he yearns to perform again. In ordinary condition, Gus will play Growltiger with Jellylorum who plays Griddlebone. If you go to see CATS in theatre, you will see Gus can change from the poor old thing to the rough, handsome Growltiger abruptly, but this is just a memory of the past, when the song of "Growltiger's last stand" ends, Gus will appear again and sobs for that he can't play anymore. So, "Growltiger's last stand" shouldn't be mixed with the celebration of the Jellicle Ball because it's just a memory of Gus.
