CALL AHEAD TO MAKE SURE THE ANIMAL YOU WANT TO SEE WILL BE THERE URGENT UPDATESWe are in need of foster homes. We actually have a few foster homes,but we can always use help with our animals. If you can only foster one or two dogs or cats please let us know! Or if you can only volunteer to do cat adoptions and help keep the cat room clean,that would be a great help to the Cats. You would forever have the hearts of the animals, and of course US!!! Please email us at paws2003@bellsouth.net if you can help! WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO We are a non-profit organization. Our main goal has been the spaying and neutering of animals in order to control the population of unwanted animals, thus reducing euthanasia, starvation and cruel death in our area.Our group goes into the pound each Wed. and pull whatever adoptable animals we can care for. We then take these animals directly to a veterinarian where they are checked, sterilized and "fixed up" when needed. Without our adoption program, all of the animals you see pictured on our site would not have had the opportunity to find their forever home. We currently have several foster homes and we can always use people to come and play with and walk dog to help socialize them.If you have a skill in training dogs,we would love to have you come and assist in training our dogs to walk on lead,sit,stay and down. This will help a great deal in helping to get these guys and gals adopted. Also if you would love to own an animal but don't have the extra funds to take care of your own, foster one of ours and we take care of the needs until it finds it's forever home.This way you can always have the love of a pet and still help a great animal find it's place in the world. We do ask you to bring the dog or cat to PetsMart each Sat.to try and help find a home for him or her. If you would like to help in any way, may it be as: Foster parent, Writing Grants, Fund Raising Activites, Cleaning, Walking dogs, Feeding and Cleaning Cat Cages, Donations of money, Time, Supplies. HOW DO YOU ADOPT?In order to adopt one of our animals you will have to talk with one of our representatives so that we can make sure we are getting the best match of pet and owner. You may be asked to provide us with a vet reference. Next you must sign one of our adoption agreements and understand exactly what you are getting into. Please FULLY RESEARCH pet ownership and know that this will be a LIFETIME (15 year or more) commitment to caring for this pet!!!! Adoption fee is usually $75. The fees may be higher or lower on certain animals. On Petsmart adoption days the fee is $75 for all pets. This is a Petsmart policy. Also, if you come to adopt a cat you will need a carrier. Petsmart does not allow us to release a cat from the adoption center without a carrier. This is for the animals safety!!!!!!!!! Dogs will need a well fitted collar and leash.All of our cats are tested for the feline Lukemia/Aids viruses. Any dog old enough to be tested for heartworms, has been.
