MIGRATION BALLOON

Remembering Our Sons & Daughters

On Saturday, February 28, 2004 I was in Phoenix
going to garage sales.
This is also Danny's birthday, Arlene's son,
who is also Luke's wonderful friend in Heaven.
As I was driving through a major street
in one of the neighborhoods I noticed
an orange balloon
just hopping along the sidewalk.
I passed it and thought...hmmmm...
that's odd, since we are always releasing
ORANGE balloons to Luke on special days.
So I decided to turn my car around.
I parked on the side of the road
with my emergency flashers on
and went to get that orange balloon.
As I reached for it the wind blew
and I had to chase it into a park.
I finally captured it and looked at the picture
on the balloon all printed in black.
Luke was born on Halloween,
so orange and black together is very special for us.
The picture on the balloon was a migration symbol.
The migration symbol is an ancient petroglyph
of the Hopi Native American Tribe that is found
on many stones here in Arizona.
The migration symbol means that
someone once inhabited this place
but is now gone, or moved on.
We bought a migration symbol necklace
to place on Luke's urn well over a year ago.
When I saw the migration symbol,
I knew I was supposed to have this balloon.
Then I noticed that the balloon
also had a few peace signs on it,
and this is a special sign for Diane, Beau's Mom.
So I called and told her all about it.
Thanks LUKE and BEAU and DANNY
for the wonderful sign of your presence.
