MY LITTLE BROTHER TAUGHT ME

Remembering my brother

.....by Christine Ross in memory of Lucas Christopher Ross 1979 - 2001

My little brother taught me that.....

To dig to China wasn't far,
And there were lots of games to play,
Looking out the window of the car.

My little brother taught me that.....

A house of pillows was the best,
And we could ride stick horses,
Just like cowboys in the west.

My little brother taught me that.....

Riding bicycles in the rain,
And splashing in the puddles,
Could be our favorite things.

My little brother taught me that.....

Jumping in a pile of leaves,
Was such a great adventure,
Like playing in the ocean breeze.

My little brother taught me that.....

A train made from a cardboard box,
Could slide across the kitchen floor,
Like we did in just our socks.

My little brother taught me that.....

Backyard camping was such fun,
A telescope brought us to the moon,
And we could fry eggs out in the sun,

My little brother taught me that.....

Crocodile Hunter on TV,
Was better than any chick flick,
I could go to the movies to see.

My little brother taught me that.....

Oompha Loompha was best of all,
When it came to giving nicknames,
Just because I wasn't tall.

My little brother taught me that.....

His shoulder was my special place,
Where he could pat me on the back,
And make everything okay.

My little brother taught me that.....

A big sister never says goodbye,
Even when a little brother,
Just one day suddenly dies.

My little brother taught me that.....

Our special love will never end,
And somehow, someday, somewhere,
We'll do it all over again.
