Get True Colors Every Time You Shoot with the Expodisc
This is a review of the Expodisc by Tommy Broussard
The EXPODISC is a filter like attachment that fits on the front of the lens of your digital camera. If you're able to set a custom white balance on your camera, this usually does a better job then auto white balance or the other settings, i. e. cloudy, night, etc. All you have to do is attach the expodisc to the front of your lens and point it from where your subject it to where you camera is and shoot. (Position wise, this is done in the say way as you would to get an incident light reading). Once you've accepted your custom white balance you then remove the expodisc and shoot your subject on M if you've taken a reading with a light meter or you can shoot on A, S, or P and you're assured to have the correct white balance, the exposure will be exactly as you normally get with these settings or meter reading. I've tried it and it really makes a difference. Cost is on the order of $110 depending on your lens size.
Other Reviews: Extreme Reviews Camera Town James Stephens
The Expodisc can be purchased from many on line stores including B&H and Hunt's. Gary Farber with Hunt's said that he would sell it for 10% off of what B&H is selling it for and he will provide free shipping as well. He states that the 10% off and the free shipping is for this item only. You can contact Gary via email at DigitalGuyGary@wbhunt.com .

How I See It
This is a new simple idea to allow members to:
Learn from one another
See how each person sees and interprets images differently
Here's how it works.
You will be e-mailed an image titled HISI_X.jpg (X will be the number of the image to be edited; e.g. HISI_1.jpg). The message will have a deadline to e-mail the finished image to Kirk Roth. Once you receive the image:
1. "Have at it"…edit it any way you see fit. There is no right or wrong way to edit it. Give it your best shot. Any form of cropping or adjusting is acceptable.
2. While you are editing, try to remember what you were thinking, what impressions or ideas caused you to take these editing steps. You may also want make notes as to the actual tools used or possibly make a screen capture of each major step. These processes/steps can then be shared with your fellow club members. Size to the club's standard 300dpi maximum 1024 (wide) x 768 (high) pixels.
3. Save final images as: Initial_LastName_HISI_X.jpg (X will be the number of the image to be edited). Submit in the same manner as you submit competition files. E-mail the final image to Kirk Roth; please use "HISI Image" in the subject line.
