M-1 Dogwood Days

Slight redraft to make the seam lines of the small white triangles meet at the small squares' seam lines. Handpieced the interior nine patch so the fussy cut circles could be centered exactly. Paper pieced some areas into units and used individual templates on outer log cabin pieces.

Paper pieced into units and hand and machine pieced the units and individual pieces.

M-3 Fireweed Flower

Hand pieced except for the "point" units of the star that were paper pieced.

M-4 Stepping Stones

Interior paper pieced in sections of nine squares (the "boxes" and the "arrows") while outer sections were treated as individual templates.

Slight redraft to match Jane's. Paper pieced in units then machine pieced the units.

M-6 Simplicity

Inner area all hand pieced. Outer border paper pieced. There are actually four different very similar fabrics used in this one but it's hard to tell.

M-7 Junko's Rose Garden

Reverse appliqued the outer white background fabric to a large square of the floral fabric. Appliqued (with freezer paper on top) the large melon shapes in white fabric onto the floral fabric. Cut away excess floral fabric underneath then, with freezer paper on top, appliqued the outer melon shapes in green fabric.

M-8 Enchanted Square

Paper pieced in units then machine pieced the units.

M-9 Fan Dance

Paper pieced in eight pie shaped units of three sections. Machine and hand pieced the units.

M-10 Simple Simon

Paper pieced in strips and machine pieced the strips.

M-11 Rickshaw

Paper pieced into diagonal strip units then machine pieced the units. I pressed the seams open on this one while piecing the units to avoid distorting the points in the seam allowance.

M-12 Hopscotch

Used individual templates so the stripes could be centered exactly. Machine pieced.

M-13 Lynette's Diamond

Traced pattern onto background fabric then reverse appliqued the inner square. Using freezer paper on top, appliqued the quarter circles onto the background fabric.
