F)Describe what Unisys is.

Unisys Website
Unisys is for systems integration, outsourcing, infrastructure, server technology, and consulting.
Unisys was selected for secure supply chain projects first by the TSA (Transportation Security Administration)
Switching to Unisys would help standardize IT infrastructure.
Security features include Zero-gap security planning, cyber-terror, magic quadrant, and counter-terrorism and counter-network attack.

G)Print up a brief description of what a blade, rack, and edge mounted server are.

Blade Mounted Servers: This concept focuses on increasing server density by using a trick from the nbetworking
swithching industry; a high capacity, low-footprint chassis is used to house servers on a card, each of which is
known as a blade. Blade servers prom9ise customers the ability to shrink their server farms while retaining the
same amount of processor power, or even increasing it. In short, with data centre space being limited, every
square foot counts.

Rack Mounted Servers: Rack mounted, tower, or stackable servers are the most commonly used servers in todays
businesses and organizations. There are several advantages and disadvantages to this. Advantages being that
Hardware and Software can be easily found and replaced, disadvantages are that cables can get quite tabled behind
the server, which can look like quite bunch of vines.

Edge Mounted Server: The goal behind the "edge" is to develop base technologies needed for highlyt scalable
application delivery. The techs being investigated inclued the infrastructure needed to develop edge-servers
,as well as general paradigms for application splitting that can leverage such an application delivery network.
The infrastructure technologies include those related to data aching, query caching, servicves for application,
distribution and execution, security, and management. The edge server would also incorporate new techniques
that can leverage QoS support at servers, as well as maintain scalable content based routing based on techniques
such as MPLS.

H)What does ATA and SATA stand for?

ATA: Currently the ATA hard drive landscape looks pretty good, and it's about to get even better. C urrent ATA hard
Drives use the ATA/100 and ARA/133 specs, which are limited to transfer rates of 100 and 133 MB per sec, respectively.
These drives use 80 pin ribbon cables that clutter the inside of the case and interfere w/ airflow. New ATA's promise
speeds of 150 MB's per sec.
SATA: What is SATA? SATA uses a 7 wire interface. Three of the wires are ground signals, the other 4 are towo pairs
of differential signals - onw pair in each direction. SATA is using the trancsceiver techniligy used by Fibre Channel.
Todays hardware runs at 1.5 Ghz and should be at 3 Ghz soon. ATA Commands, status and data are transmittedx on packets
on this interface. This is done such that the traditional ATA command protocols are basically unchanged (more about this
below).

J)What do the terms 1U, 2U, and 4U stand for?

The "sizing" or "gauging" method used for measuring the height and width of rack mounted servers?
