Approximately 4 years ago several friends and associates started talking about starting a car club that would be open to a larger variety of vehicles. It was an idea whose time had come. At least this spirited small ban of car & truck enthusiasts thought so. There were several car clubs in town; however these clubs held meetings, collected dues and were only open to specialty vehicles.

From this small group IDLERS SHOW CARS & SHOW TRUCKS was formed. The "Idlers Show Cars and Show Trucks" name was suggested because I was associated with a club called "The Idlers" many years ago in Texas.

So this small group banned together with their cars & trucks to see how this would work. Well, the concept of no meetings, no dues and any car or truck regardless of year, make or model caught on and the club has attracted many interesting, and friendly people all with similar interest and all with something unique to offer.

With strong support from the members “Idlers” began to contribute to the community. The club started to participate in local car shows that were fund raisers and later organized and participated in club sponsored fund raisers.

Then "Idler’s" found a home at O'Reilly's Auto Parts and with the help of Mr. John Wells, began organizing events geared to help several people who were in need. Our sponsors have been very quick to respond to our wants and needs by donating their time and resources. "Idlers Show Cars and Show Trucks" have grown tremendously over the last 3 years from 6-8 members to over 200 members and are still growing. One of our events rarely ends without someone joining “Idlers”. We generally do local car shows but do go out of town and even out of state as a group. We also participate in other local club’s events.

We invite anyone who is interested in this "motor sport" to join in our car family.
