Gulf South Bird Club, Inc. was founded in 1978
by a small group of bird fanciers who gathered together to
share information, ideas, educational programs, and experiences in the hobby of bird keeping.
Since then, GSBC Inc. has grown with a membership including pet owners,
breeders, veterinarians, suppliers and other clubs and societies across the country which
forms a network of information.
The club produces a newsletter listing club activities and coming events
of avian interest and articles on birds.
Our club promotes captive breeding programs and has had several
members to successfully breed some rare species of Finches and
Parrots.
The club meets monthly offering programs and lectures by guess
speakers from the avian community. The club meets the first Sunday
of each month Visitors are very welcome. Come and see
what we’re all about.
The club’s largest annual function is a Bird Show & Fair
held once a year and a few other bird fairs.
