In Loving Memory of Granny

This page was created in loving memory of my Granny. She taught me so much in the short thirteen years we shared. Although she battled courageously until the end Granny fell victim to colon cancer and eight months later was called by the Lord to Heaven. This website was lovingly created as a lasting memorial to Granny. May she finally be at peace and walking along the beautiful rivers and valleys in Heaven.

Granny, though it has been many years since God made you an angel I still remember vividly your bright smile and soulful eyes. I hold dear all the stories you told and the lessons you taught. Thank you for all that you gave me. Even though our years together were short you gave me enough love to last my lifetime. Without your love I may never have known how to be half as kind and loving as you were in your life. You have inspired so much creativity in my life. You helped make me who I am and for that I am eternally grateful. I know that you are walking Prissy throughout Heaven. Please let her know how much I miss her. Until we meet again Granny I will see you in my dreams. As you promised you are and will always be in my heart.

Always,
your Doodlebug

A Poem I wrote for my Granny:

Finally Letting Go

Good-bye, I have to say "so long"
my heart can't bear more pain, I have to be more strong
Your never coming back I now accept your fate
Your an angel now in Heaven, You've gone beyond the gates
I love you more than ever you were my closest friend
I hope that God will tell you my love will never end
Sometimes still I feel you when I close my eyes
Although it gives me comfort I still can't help but cry
So good-bye my dear Granny, I have to let you go
I never will forget you I hope somehow you'll know
When I close my eyes and dream at night I'll see you now and then
And when the morning comes I'll know I'm one day closer to meeting you again
