louisiana cooking

Down here in New Roads, Louisiana on the banks of the False River in Pointe Coupée Parish, we love to eat jambalaya, corn bread, crawfish, shrimp, gumbo, pork, chicken, beef, and ,of course, anything with the wonderful raw sugar from our Alma Sugar Mill.

We are proud of our African American, Creole, and Cajun heritage and the Louisiana Home Cooking recipes handed down from our grandmothers. Our Louisiana cooking is influenced by our variety of cultures. Bold flavors, a blend of spices and hearty portions epitomize our dishes.

And, we have a saying, "Êtes vous ce que vous mangez" or "You are what you eat." We love our Louisiana style of cooking, but......

We're fixin to change it for the better - so let's get COOKING.
