My name is Dennis Crochet, and this is my wife of 11 years, Leah. We live, along with our dogs, on 12 acres in beautiful Southwest Louisiana, where the sport of cockfighting is still legal and going strong. I must say, if we could choose anywhere in the world to live, it would be right here! I don't think you'll find anyone prouder to be Cajun than Leah and I. Nowhere else in the world can you find the kind of culture and heritage that we have here, not to mention the incredible food and music!

  I've enjoyed gamefowl since 1980, when I was introduced to the sport by a wonderful friend of mine by the name of Manny Hoffpauir. Manny had serious heart problems, but it never stopped him from doing what he loved to do....raise and fight gamefowl. He passed away suddenly a couple of years ago, and despite his multitude of eccentricities, he's sorely missed. Through Manny I met many of the good friends I have now.

  When I'm not caring for or fighting my birds, I'm crawfishing. If you've never had the opportunity to eat spicy, steaming hot, boiled crawfish, well,...you have my deepest sympathy. Besides fried shrimp I can't think of a more delicious meal. If you're ever in this area and you've got the chance to have crawfish, better jump on it!
