The Black List
Ok. Now you have all the tools you need, the first thing you need to do is convert the audio file that you want to use into .wav format. If it is already in .wav format then you can move to the next step. You can use any audio editing tool that you like to convert to .wav if it's not in that format. The next thing we need to do is change the bitrate.
To all you people who dont know what that is, the bitrate is how song is format (i.e. Mono or Stereo, 44100 kbs). I know you prolly have seen that somewhere while downloading musically off p2p programs but anyway....you should change the bitrate to Mono and 22.050 kHz or 24 kbits/second(whichever applies to the application you use). Make sure you change the format to mono because if you dont then your ringtone file wont play on your phone. If you want an easy program to use then just use dbpoweramp converter to change all file formats.
Once you change the format and the file type to wav, now you can open the Sound Recorder up and cut the parts of the songs you want out of it by finding the part of the song and deleting before or after. Make sure you keep the song around 30 seconds because after 30 seconds voicemail will answer the phone(unless you dont have voicemail. lmao).
Now after you have the snippet of the song you want open dbpoweramp converter and pick the .wav file you created. The on the dialog box choose m4a(cli) and the bitrate should be 48 kbps (it's all the way at the bottom). Now you don't have to use 48 kbs but remember the larger the bitrate the larger your ringtone file will be, so keep that in mind.
Next, go to Rumkin.com Uploader. Now once you get there you can enter in your telephone number, name of the file, and upload the file, and after a few seconds you will get a message on your phone and you can download your new ringer in minutes.
Now if you want those really loud ringtones. Holla at me and I can make them for you because my goal is to give knowledge but I can't have you guys making better stuff than me..lol. Now, if any of you have any problems with these basics instructions drop me a line at my email address which is listed under the contact info link on the side.
