Gus Sigritz and W. R. Van Dyck put her Best of Breed, and Edwin Pickhardt gave her a major reserve at ten months. They told us that Sassy was very much like Darn Minute. Florence Cumminmgs gave her Best of Breed at specialties. Sassy had her majors at ten months and went on to finish early. She produced Best in Show Ch. Tel's Bold Blue Boy by Ch. Three Trees Beau Blue and Ch. Tel's Rouge Royal Lady by Ch. Royal Rock Gamblin' Man. Several others of her get were pointed and almost finished. In the 1966 Collie Club of America Yearbook, she tied as Top Producing Collie - Dam.

Louis and Julia went to the shows during summer while I stayed home and did summer school work. The whole family took part in the fun of raising ans showing the dogs.
We bred only when we needed something to show or to reinforce our breeding program. We did not average one litter a year in our thirty years of breeding. At times we skipped two or three years between breedings.
Louis and I tried to produce quality instead of quantity. We sent out to kennels that we thought could complement our bitches. In analyzing our bitches, we looked for faults that needed correction. We were hoping to get a combination of the strengths of the dogs. If a weakness was back skull, we would suggest to the breeder to use a male that produced good back skulls.
Our two top winners were Best in Show Ch. Tel's Bold Blue Boy and Ch.Tel's Bold Bit of Blue. blue Boy was our fun dog. He loved shows. When we bred to Ch. Three Trees Beau Blue, we were told that his assets were elegance and coat. These were assets we needed and assets we got! Blue Boy's record included two Best in Show, seven Group 1, many other placements, Best of Breed at specialty shows, winner of CCA Tokalon Blue Banner awarded, #2 in all breed show statistics, and on two CCA calendars.
