About Me:
I started in November of 1972. Loving, raising and showing dog for over 36 years. It was a way to travel and be with my dogs at the same time. I love being with my dogs, grooming, playing, and photographing them. It is not the number of ribbons, or champions I have, it's the feeling, it's the smiles, it's the way they make me feel. This was my hobby, a hobby that I took seriously. I study and I read and listened. I feel that I am a professional and accept my responsibilities to the collie breed. When I (my collie) produce a litter that they are raised to the best of my ability and helped along the way. We have been fortunate to have produce and sold puppies that have lived long healthy lives. I will try to help all who want a collie as part of their family.
Our collies date back to Parader, Lick Creek and Arrowhill. (see pedigrees) You will see many great ones leading into the present. (see Tel Collies) I have had three excellent mentors and one true friend to guide me on my way.

My Philosophy : Collies were born to be loved. Good beginnings are important and cherished, especially here at Earthstar but collies are for life -once they leave my home the rest is up to you. Collies should be consider a member of the family, they depend on you. Collies are not children but child like, they need people that understand that owning a puppy is a commitment for life. What you put into one's children or dogs, that time, training, care, love and attention; " you invested " is the type of results you will end up with. A great happy well adjusted child or a great happy well adjusted dog.
There are big difference between people, whether you are a breeder, owner or purchaser.
I want to be known for being responsible for what I produce and proud of what I produce. And being responsible means you care what happens and concerned who is purchasing and for why they are purchasing your puppies.
Our Goal and Hopes:
1. To make every person happier with a collie in their home.
2. To find the right person for my puppies and adults.
3. To find Show people that love them even when the judge doesn't agree.
4. Companion owners that remember to go that extra mile, for the life of the dog.
We are born, we live, we grow old, we die. What happens along the way; The experiences: the way we handle accidents, sickness, disease, departure, will tell what type of person, owner, breeder you /we are..
5. To be loyal to the nature of a collie.
6. To continue breeding the best we can and to keep the traits, we consider the most important, using the standard as our guide.
7. Strive for perfect health, maintain good bone and great structure, normal eyes and natural ears.
8. To see my kennel name and all the good work live on.
9. To have many more adventures with my collies and my friend Rose Marie Conner.
10. To cause collie breed no harm.
OUR collies are the sweetest and most understanding of dogs, they can adjust to your lifestyle. They don't need an acre of land to be happy, they need one human to love them. They want YOUR COMPANIONSHIP.
Even when all the cleaning, pooper scooping, grooming, playing,and feeding is done -- I'm not alone. Yes some they are Dachshund, climbs in my lap at day's end.
Our Collies:
They have temperaments that are out going and loving. They will greet with more energy than you will be ready for. They love people, children and learn so fast it will amaze you. Children of all ages, babies to grandparents.
Patches & daughter; next is Beast & Savannah.....Peanut pictured at 9 yrs old. Followed by Savannah and Dam Gypsy ( Gypsy is full sister to Peanut;) they turned 13 years old Jan. 2008.

I breed sound, healthy and beautiful dogs. Style and Function. Outstanding beauties with sweet expression.
We recognize that beauty is important but intelligence, being structurally correct, is what makes the total dog. A collie is a herding dog, they love learning, will work with you in obedience and agility. Of course, if you wish they will just grace your sofa and be happy just at your feet.
I have shown and finished 12 collies to their championship; I bred 10 that have finished their championship. I co own five that are nearly finished. I have two that I have purchased that are well on their way.
Yes, we breed and we have puppies to sell. Yes, we help rescue. Yes, we take back our own, if necessary and try harder to place them in better homes the second time around.
