ADPR3110 - Advertising Message Strategy

"And all the people knelt and prayed
To that neon god they made…
And the writings of the prophets are written on the subway wall…"
~Simon & Garfunkel, The Sound of Silence

I am a senior at the University of Georgia. My major is advertising and I'm finishing up a certificate in women's studies. This site is for my creative class, officially titled ADPR3110 - Advertising Message Strategy. Click here to see my class.

I graduate next semester (Spring 2005) and am trying to get a job. Preferably one that pays well. When I grow up I want to be a rock star. I can't sing or play an instrument, but I figure that didn't stop Britney Spears!

Other things about me... I'm still devastated that Bush won. I'm sick of him and his machiavelian regime. Not that I have strong feelings about it or anything (*dripping sarcasm*). I'm getting married on July 30th to the most perfect human being I've ever met. Softball is my favorite sport to play. I play 1st base and have for 14 years. Competition drives me. Football is my favorite sport to watch, but I'm conflicted about what team to cheer for. I was raised on Georgia Tech, I went to FSU, and now I am at UGA. So you can see my problem!

The thing I'm most passionate about is music. I've seen more concerts than I can count and own over 500 Cds and 50-something LPs. My favorite band right now is Sugarland (my kitten is named Sugar). Old favorites: Indigo Girls, Fleetwood Mac (my first child is going to be named Rhiannon), Bob Dylan, Blood Sweat and Tears, Sarah McLachlan, Jennifer Nettles (who is now the lead singer of Sugarland), Simon and Garfunkel, and Bette Midler (my cat that stays at my parent's house is named Bette). A wide variety, I know, but they are all amazing in their own ways. I could go on and on, but I'll just say that music touches me in ways I can't even begin to describe. The afore mentioned artists make up the soundtrack of my life.

I hope everyone enjoys my web page. I've had one since I was 15 and managed to teach myself HTML. It may be easier to use a web design program, but I can't seem to get away from doing it the old fashioned way. Maybe it's because I learned to use a computer when there was only DOS (yes, I had a computer before Windows) and I never got over computers being more complex than they have to be (my dad is an engineer, I blame him ;).

"When in doubt make a fool of yourself.
There is a microscopically thin line between being
brillantly creative and acting like the most gigantic idoit on earth.
So what the hell, leap."
~Cynthia Heimel
