Barbara Walker Tarot
Two words came to mind when I first saw this deck: creepy and cheesy. This looks like a deck you'd expect to see in a 1970's horror movie or something, especially the court cards. The courts are represented by various gods, goddesses and mythological figures. For instance, the queen of swords is Kali, who is eating the intestines from the body of her victim. I can't imagine using this deck for clients ... that card alone would scare the daylights our of most of them.
The deck follows the Marseilles style of order and naming, except that the Tower is called the House of God. Unlike Marseilles style, the pips are fully illustrated ... unfortunately. Actually, the pips and the majors aren't that bad (although cheesy). It's the court cards which are horrid.
Cards measure about 2.5 by 4.5 inches, which is perfect for me. Apparently, they are durable as well. I bought this deck well used, and it has held up well. I wont be putting it through any more use, though.
I recommend this deck for anyone making a horror flick, or looking for a Halloween prop. Otherwise, I don't recommend it at all, except for the collector (who would buy 78 scraps of notebook paper if it were called tarot).
