Vision Quest Tarot
As I've said before, I know very little about Native American culture or mythology. That being said, this is one of the better Native American theme decks as far as I can tell. It's loosely based on Marseilles style, but many modifications have been made. Major arcana consists of: 0-the clown, I-medicine man, II-medicine woman, III-grand mother, IV-grand father, V-shaman, VI-lovers, VII-spiritual warrior, VIII-balance, IX-hermit, X-small medicine wheel, XI-life force, XII-vision quest, XIII-transformation, XIV-integration, XV-torment, XVI-chaos, XVII-star, XVIII-moon, XIX-sun, XX-spirit guide, and XXI-big medicine wheel. Suits are fire, air, water and earth. Court cards are father, mother, son and daughter.
The cards measure about 2.75 by 4.75 inches, which is a bit large for my tastes. Card stock is excellent, not too stiff and not flimsy. Although I haven't had this deck long enough to say for sure, I have no reason to doubt their durability at this point.
I recommend this deck for anyone looking for a Native American deck, for collectors and for theme deck lovers. I believe all ranges of readers, from beginners to advanced, will be able to use this deck. An added bonus is that the little white booklet that comes with this deck is wonderful. It is much more detailed than most others.
