Esbats-These celebrations are in recognition of the thirteen full moons of the year. These days hold the special energies of the moon. Some traditions hold Minor Feasts after the ritual;all members bring dishes to share. Esbats performed on full moons represent the Goddess at her full power. The communion, cakes and ales, is taken at Esbats whether you are a group member or solitary. Sometimes Handfastings(weddings) and Wiccanings(christenings) are performed at Esbats on occasion. The consecration of tools and charging of amulets may also be performed during the Esbats. The traditional celebration of Esbats include prayer, personal celebration, and magickal workings needed for the new monthSabbats- The four Sabbats(Imbolc, Beltane,Lughnasadh, and Samhain) were first centered around agriculture and animals. These celebrations revere the Goddes and God-they teach us how the life cycle works in nature/humans. Sabbats occur during the Equinoxes and Solstices.
