*Resolutions and Voting*

At Youth Annual Conference, we aren't all fun and games! We do take quite a bit of time out to do some serious decision making. We vote on submitted resolutions. Okay, this means the different churchs, youth groups, or individuals find something that seems to be wrong or out of place with the church or the way the church is being used in society and they write a resolution to fix it. The resolutions, if submitted on time, are then typed up and handed out and the voting deligates get to debate and decide what action should be taken. Every church gets 4 votes: 2 senior high, 1 junior high, and 1 adult. But NO ADULTS ARE ALLOWED TO DEBATE!!! Isn't that awesome?! That's why it's called YOUTH Anuual Conference! Resolutions are to be taken seriously because they decide the future of us as youth. They are representations of who we are and how we feel. Some are easy to vote on and some have much controversy and debate. It can take hours sometimes just to vote on one or two. But, we do get our work done within three sesssions. There is a morning session Saturday and Sunday and then an afternoon session on Saturday also. They are lots of fun and if you get to vote, it's really awesome to know that you are making a difference. Resolutions may take awhile and get boring every now and then, but just remember why you are there. God is giving YOU, the youth, the opportunity to make His world a better place. Make His voice be heard! Amen. NOTE:To learn more about the voting process and resolutions, contact your local church pastor and they will put you in touch with someone who can help you understand better! Or drop the St.C District Youth a Note at our website, and we would be more than happy to explain. Thank you!
