Military recruiters are on the run. Enlistment has remained below the military's goals for all of 2005. Since the Iraq War started they have been having trouble getting people to sign up. They have been caught lying to potential recruits, helping and encouraging the falsification of documents, and helping with illegal activities, all in order to get people into the Military. Let's keep them on their toes. Let's not allow them to continue the lies and cheating they use to recruit young people.
Put a wrench into the U.S. war machine, and into military recruiting, which lies to get people to enlist, and targets poor youth of color especially for enlistment.
Step #1: Call military recruiting offices and say you are intrested in signing up.
Step# 2: Start to allude to drug problems, mental or physical illness, lack of a high school diploma, a criminal record, or any problem that would make you ineligable for recruitment. Try and coax them into getting you to skirt the rules by helping you lie or cheat to meet requirements (i.e.-"I heard you can get this detox stuff..." or "Isn't their some kind of way to get a fake diploma online?").
They will probably figure out your deception and recognize it as a trap. This is a good thing. It's okay to obviously try and trap them in illegal behavior or lies. The reason for this is that if they keep getting phone calls with fake "recruits" trying to get them to lie, they will be more hesitant to lie to REAL potential recruits. This will make it much harder to recruit, because using the truth doesn't stand to get them many enlistees!

FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS:
-If this sounds fun, but you're feeling more ambitious, follow the lead of a high school reporter in Colorado who tape recorded recruiters telling him how to order a fake high school diploma online and took him to buy detox medicine to get pot out of his system.
-Use names of recruiters you learn from one phone call for the next: "A Sargent So-and-So gave me this number when I talked to him at school and I am interested in joining...."
-Organize a protest outside of a recruitment office. It will ruin all of their appointments with recruits for the time you are there, and let people know about military recruiters lies.
-Recruiters only have to get 2 recruits to sign up in a month. So each recruitment must be a time-consuming bullshit-fest for recruiters. The more of their time you waste by having them call you back at non-existant phone numbers, track you down "at your auntie's house" where you are never home, or bring you along through the recruitment process, the less time they have to be lying to some other young kid.
You don't have to call all of these at once. Call one a day, or space it out. Just have fun with it! And please, spread this idea around as much as possible. The more people call the better! Just remember, you are an Anti-Army of One!
