This website was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Please continue to bring on the fucking ruckus wherever you are now! This site will stay online for archival purposes.

About this project:

This website does not represent a specific organization, but rather is a collaborative effort among a few individuals in the New Orleans area. To keep this project going we need the active participation of people informing us of anarchist and anti-authoritarian events, direct actions from the news, and especially correspondence from surrounding towns, cities and states

Social War in the South:

May 22, New Orleans, LA- Friends of police murder victim and trombone player "Shotgun" Joe Williams hurled objects at police and assaulted officers during a party celebrating what would have been Joe's 23rd birthday. 11 people were arrested from the 300-400 person party in the 9th Ward neighborhood. Joe was killed by police while unarmed in August of 2004.

May 5, West Palm Beach, FL- Karim Iraq, 25, a soldier who fled Fort Stewart in Georgia 6 months ago was arrested in Florida as a deserter. He left after the Army extended his enlistment. He had also soured on the U.S. military mission in Iraq. His father said the soldier was harassed over his Palestinian heritage. ``He was feeling rejected or discriminated against for the last year or so.... He said he'd been made fun of all the time. He never fit in. They made fun of his name. They always looked at him like he's an outsider,'' Zayed Iraq said.

May 4, Conway, SC- Over the weekend windows were broken out in 56 school buses parked in a bus lot near Conway High School. A driver's education vehicle, three golf carts and a storage shed also were damaged during the incidents. On Monday students were able to arrive an hour late to school thanks to the damage. Damage was estimated at $30,000. Previous incidents of vandalism include a handful of bus tires being slashed last year at Conway and Socastee high schools and two cars in 2003 being rigged to ram into Socastee High School without a driver.

May 2 and 3, Slidell, LA- Two students were arrested after two consecutive days of bomb threats at St. Tammany Jr. High. School officials discovered writing in bathrooms and on a desk indicating someone planned to "blow up the school." They think the threats are the work of students who were looking for an excuse to get out of class. After another student told on her, a 12-year-old girl admitted to writing on a bathroom wall a threat to blow up the school, along with Tuesday's date. "She said she wanted to have some time off from school like when they evacuated the building after yesterday's bomb threat." A parent of a student at the school said she knows of at least five threats at the school since March. In addition, the school was evacuated for a second time Monday when someone activated the fire alarm. Kids at this school love to get out of class!

May 2, Bradenton, FL- Kids at Bayshore High School glued the locks to the school as a senior prank. The principal had to cancel the first two class periods. It will cost thousands of dollars to replace them all. We think it's hilarious.

April 26, Thomasville, GA- 19 year old Russell Jones let the air out of the tires on almost 40 busses. Unfortuantely he was caught, but the arresting officers had this to say about the situation: "We asked Mister Jones if he was sorry for what he did. At that time he said he was not sorry, it was a good prank, and he's glad that he did do it," he says.

April 25, Lee County, FL- Sprint phone and internet lines were cut and vandalized, causing outages in Southwest Florida, including to the Lee County Justice Center. The people who cut the cops' phone lines have not been caught.

April 24, Anderson, SC- Close to $1 million in damage was done to equipment on a controversial subdivision construction site in Anderson County. "They literally tore the equipment apart with another piece of equipment. My Freightliner dump truck was flipped over numerous times and smashed. Literally disassembled with an excavator," said Gedenberg. No one has been caught.

April 23, St. Augustine, FL- Damage to 9 Pepsi vending machines at Bartram Trail High School was reported after the weekend. All machines were damaged between Friday evening and Sunday afternoon. There were no signs of forced entry to the school, but damages to the machines were estimated at $18,000.

April 16, Murfreesboro, TN- A broken window at the Rutherford County Republican Party early Saturday that sent two people to the emergency room, was an accident not an act of vandalism. A group of Texans visiting Murfreesboro saw the cutout picture of George W. Bush standing in the window and decided to pose for a picture with the president. Someone apparently leaned against the window and it shattered. Sometimes fat, stupid Republicans get what they deserve.

April 14, Wesson, MS- About 20 windows were broken and caused an estimated $2,600-$3,400 in damage at The Old Wesson School, which is in the process of being renovated for the Saint Ambrose Leadership School for Boys. Unfortunately three girls, ages 12,13 and 15, were arrested.

April 8, Georges County, MS- A student riot broke out at the Eagle Point Christian Academy. Windows were broken, bunks overturned and a barrack was trashed. Seven students were transported to a hospital for treatment, and six others arrested. The school uses hazing-type discipline tactics, such as making students kneel for long periods on hardwood floors as punishment Mace was also routinely used as punishment. Several students also ran away from the prison-camp style school but were caught. The repsonse by authorities to this insanity and cruel punishment: more security guards to make sure kids can't escape or fight back again.

April 6, Chapel Hill, NC- Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) Captain Jacob Dallal was hit in the face with a red paint-filled balloon by an anonymous individual during a speech at the University of North Carolina. A note was left behind explaining the red paint as represenative of the blood of Palestinians killed by the IOF, and was also in remembrance for Rachel Corrie (an american killed defending homes being bulldozed by the IOF). Now everyone can see the blood this IOF represenative has on his hands as a represenative of genocide. Full Story

March 10, New Orleans, LA- Taken from the Tulane University Hullaballoo: "Disturbance: Two local residents attempted to gain access to the Reily Recreation Center March 10, but were denied access because they were not Tulane members. The non-affiliates of Tulane refused to leave the center claiming that the policy to only allow members entry was not fair. TUPD arrived to the scene and escorted the men off campus." Tulane University is a school that costs over $30,000 per year and is like a private country club for the young upper class. Small refusals like this happen every day. Acts of resistance are everywhere all the time. When we all get together and begin to demand an end to our impoverished lives, we will be able to translate these small acts of defiance into an entirely new world.

March 1, Kenner, LA- When they found out they were losing their jobs, four former AT&T workers concocted a plan to get the company back. They made it appear that customers had overpaid the phone company, then they issued refund checks to themselves, police said. The alleged scam began after AT&T announced in April it would be shutting down the center and displacing 150 workers. Unfortunately four of them were caught.
