LIFE ON THE BAYOU

Here in southeast Louisiana, we do things different from the rest of the world. We relax differenly, eat differently, talk differently, fish differently, and even "cool off" on a hot summer day differently. Here are Isaac and Eric with a huge chunk of ice on a hot summer day at Mawmaw's house.

Above is a picture of Bayou Lafourche taken about 2 and a half miles from my street. It was taken from LA 1 and shows the bayou, and the shrimp boats (trawlers) tied up along Hwy. 308. Behind the highway you can see the top of the United Methodist Church. It is the only Methodist Church in the south Lafourche area.

And sometimes, though seldom, we even get some real snow!! This was in 1989. Jessica (friend), Mandy, and Willie.

This is our front yard one very rare wintry day in 1989. It is a very rare occasion indeed! I am ready for some snow right about now!! it doesn't get monotonous because the longest it ever lasts is 2 maybe 3 days. And just every few years.
