Frequently Asked Questions, Tricks, & Tips!

Here are some of the FAQs. If you have a question or problem that isn't on this page, e-mail me.

Question: Can I be a co-owner of DTD??
Answer: No, sorry! I am the only owner of Devoted To Danes!! I can't accept requests to start new sites either, I own 4 petz sites, plus one for school and am swamped with school work as it is!

Question: My pets don't eat that much, and they still get fat!! Even when they're walking around, playing, they still get fat! What should I do??!
Answer: This happened to me a lot, especially with my infants and young puppies. I thought, are their moms feeding them too much or something?? Well, here's a little trick. Go to the clothes closet, and if the dog is wearing clothes, take them off. That should make them skinny again!! You can then put the clothes back on if you wish. If your dog isn't wearing clothes, put something on them! Anything will work, even a sock! You can then take the clothes off again if you wish. You can do this as many times as you want/need to!

Question: My puppy just won't be born! I don't understand it!! Will I ever get my puppy??
Answer: Don't worry. This has happened to me a lot of times, and it's not complicated to fix. First, take all of your other dogs out of your adopted pets folder except for the mother with the stuck pregnancy. (This is so none of your other petz will run away while you do this.) Then run petz and play with your mother a lot, give her treats, her favorite food, etc. Then close the program, and double click on the time in the bottom right corner of your screen. This should open up a menu where you can adjust the date and time. Move the date up one day. (For example, if it's the 15th, change it to the 16th.) Then run petz again, and repeat what you did before. Keep doing this (forwarding the clock, etc) until your puppy is born! After the pup is born, you can set the clock back to the correct date.

Question: I downloaded some hexed clothes, and put them on my dogs. When I took it off, though, some of the clothes stayed on!! This is my favorite dog!! How should I fix it?!
Answer: This happened to me, too. Don't panic. Put your dog away, and take her out again. This should fix the problem. Otherwise, go into your Resource\Dogz folder and delete the file that's stuck on your dog. This should fix the problem.

Question: I downloaded some hexed breeds, and when I went to the adoption center, they weren't there!
Answer: This is probably because you have breeds that are not a part of the Petz Gallery Standard. All this means is that you probably have some conflicting breed numbers. To make sure that you can see the breed you want in your adoption center, try taking some or all of your hexed breeds out of your Resource\Dogz folder except the one you want to see.

Question: I adopted a textured dane somewhere, and there coat didn't show up! What can I do?
Answer: Textured danes and other petz need bitmap files in order to look right. Make sure you have the bitmap for your dog and put it in your Resource\Dogz folder. Then take your dog out again and he should look right!
