----------->Due to the fact that Tan is one of the "original" dane colors (you can adopt a tan dane directly from the adoption center), they are often unwanted, unloved, and under-appreciated. However, Tan danes can often make wonderful petz and even great breeders.

----------->Ironically, solid tans are among the rarest solid varieties, despite the multitudes of their so-called "plain" cousins. Because of the "bad rap" tan danes receive, they are not bred very often for their traits. In fact, not only are solid Tans rare, but so are some of the other tan varieties, including Tan w/ orange, blue, red, and dusty muzzles. By far, Tan w/ brown muzzle is probably the most common combination other than Tan w/ Black.

----------->I personally recommend breeding Tans to any dane breeder who is looking for a bit of a challenge. It is amazing that you can get such wonderful color combinations from a variety that seems so ordinary. For instance, you can experience the pride in owning a rare solid Tan, in his beauty and magnificance. Besides, don't forget that a first generation Tan can have mutant children in various colors and combinations!

----------->The DTD family currently includes tans in two sizes: Regular and Small. To learn more about dane sizes, please visit the sizes information page.
