          "My Kitchen Prayer"

          Bless my pretty kitchen Lord
          And light it with Thy Love.
          Help me plan and cook my meals
          From Thy heavenly home above.
          Bless our meals with Thy Presence
          And warm them with Thy grace;
          Watch over me as I do my work,
          Washing pots and pans and plates.
          The service I am trying to do
          Is to make my family content.

          "Let's try some Summer recipes"

          "Barbecued Turkey Skewers"

          Preparation Time: 45 min.
          Oven Temperature: Preheated grill
          Marinating Time: 1-5 hours
          Serves: 4

          Ingredients:

          1 ¼ lbs. Boneless turkey breast,
          skinned.
          Cherry tomatoes
          Green pepper chunks

          Marinade:

          ½ cup soy sauce
          2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
          1 tbsp. granulated sugar
          1 clove garlic, minced or
          pressed
          ½ ground ginger
          2 tbsp. salad oil
          1 tbsp. sesame seeds

          Preparation:

          1. Soak wooden bamboo skewers
          For 10 minutes or more to prevent
          Charring on grill.

          2. Slice turkey breast across grain
          Into thin slices. Place in deep baking
          Dish.

          3. In a small bowl, mix together soy
          Sauce, lemon juice, sugar, garlic, ginger,
          Oil and sesame seeds. Pour over sliced
          Turkey breast. Marinate for 1 hour or
          More.

          4. String turkey slices onto skewers
          By weaving them loosely, alternating
          With tomatoes and green pepper
          Chunks.

          5. Place on a shallow plate. Pour
          Remaining marinade over top>
          Cover. Refrigerate 1 to 5 hours.

          6. Cook over hot barbecue coals
          Until turkey is lightly browned.
          Serve on a hot bed of cooked rice.

          Good served with: Steamed rice, fresh
          Salad, crusty French
          Bread and cheese.

          Tips: This dish is also delicious made with
          Either beef sirloin, cut into thin strips
          Across grain, pork tenderloin or chicken
          Breast in lieu of turkey.

          "Baked Spicy Onions"

          Preparation Time: 15 min.
          Baking Time: 25-30 min.
          At 375 degrees
          400 degrees
          Marinating Time: 3 hrs. or overnight
          Serves: 4

          Ingredients:

          4-5 Large onions, cut into rings

          Marinade:

          ¾ cup salad oil
          1/3 cup red wine vinegar
          2 tbsp. tomato puree
          2 tbsp. brown sugar, packed ½ tsp. each dried thyme leaves
          and basil
          1 green onion, finely chopped
          2 tbsp. chopped parsley
          Parsley, for garnish
          Thyme leaves, for garnish

          Preparation:

          1. Place onion slices in a shallow
          Baking dish.

          2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine oil,
          Vinegar, tomato puree and brown sugar.
          Add herbs.

          3. Pour marinade over onions. Let stand
          At room temperature for at least 3 hours
          Or refrigerate overnight.

          4. Pour off marinade. Set aside.

          5. Bake onions, covered, at 375 degrees
          For about 20 minutes.

          6. Uncover. Add green onions and about
          ½ cup more marinade.

          7. Bake at 400 degrees for another 10 to
          15 minutes or until onions are tender.

          8. Sprinkle with parsley and or thyme
          Leaves.

          Good served with: Baked chicken or ham
          Slices, meat loaf or meatballs.
          You may also serve onions as
          Appetizers.

          Tips: Leftover onions may be stored
          In the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days.
          You may also marinate the onion
          Rings in ready-made salad dressing
          Italian or French.

          "Spanish Style Pork Ribs"

          Preparation Time: 20 min
          Cooking Time: About 1 ½ hrs.
          Serves: 6

          Ingredients:

          2 ½-3 lbs. Meaty pork spareribs
          3 Slices Bacon, cut into 1-inch
          Pieces
          1 pkg. (8 oz.) brown- and-serve
          sausage links
          1 medium onion, chopped
          1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
          1 can (16 oz.) stewed tomatoes,
          crushed
          1 can (10 ¾ oz.) condensed beef broth
          ½ cup stuffed olives, sliced, (optional)
          ¼ tsp. black pepper
          Few sprigs parsley, chopped
          ¼ cup all-purpose flour
          ½ cup cold water

          Preparation:

          1. Cut spareribs into 2-inch rib pieces.
          Set aside.

          2. In Dutch oven or kettle, cook bacon
          Until crisp. Remove from pan.

          3. Add sausages. Brown. Remove meat
          And discard most of fat.

          4. Brown spareribs, one half at a time
          On all sides.

          5. Discard fat. Put all meats back into
          Dutch oven. Add onion, garlic, tomatoes,
          Broth, olives, pepper and parsley.

          6. Bring to a boil. Cover. Simmer, turning
          Occasionally, for 1 hour or until ribs are
          Tender.

          7. Remove meats. Place on a hot platter. Tip
          Up Dutch oven, skim off fat. Measure sauce.
          If necessary, add water to make 2 ½ cups.

          8. Blend flour and cold water. Stir into liquid.
          Cook, stirring until thickened.

          9. Serve with noodles.

          Good served with: Marinated broccoli or
          Asparagus.
