DBZ stands for DragonBallZ. An awesome anime series that is about Gokou, his friends, and the adventures that they go through. At the begining of the series an Saiyajin parades in on a reunion of sorts that Gokou is having with his friends. The saiyajin claims to be Gokou's older brother named Raditz (If these are spelled wrong, tell me). Raditz then tells Gokou all about the saiyajin and how their home planet gets blown up with a meteorite. Raditz orders Gokou to destroy the people of earth or Raditz will kill Gokou's son, Gohan. Then Raditz takes off with Gohan. Gokou decides to follow Raditz with his friends hoping to kill raditz so earth will live in peace from him. But an old enemy of Gokou's, Piccolo, comes by and says that he will never succeed. That they must team up together if they want to beat this guy. Then they take off, fight Raditz, piccolo kills him along with Gokou and then makes the mistake of telling Raditz about the dragonballs. Dragonballs are 7 magic balls that are collected and once brought together, a dragon (an enormous one, very, very big) appears and will then grant the user any 1 wish he so desires. Of course it isn't always the same person who got all of the dragonballs together that makes the wish. Someone else can make his widh right before the other guy even says a word. Well, Raditz then tells Piccolo that 2 more saiyajins, even more powerful than him will come and want to make a wish. In 1 year. Piccolo finishes Raditz off right there. Piccolo then takes Gohan to train him for that year and leaves. Gohan had knocked Raditz over during the fight (the kid is 5 years old right now), while his own dad couldn't even land a punch. Gokou meanwhile travels to some guy named King Kai to train for the other Saiyajins arrival. It takes him almost the entire year just to get there. But when he finally does, he trains and finds out more about his Saiyajin heritage. When his training is completed, he gets wished back, and ends up arriving a day too late. But when he finally does get there he finishes off bothe Saiyajins. He lets the one named Vejita go. Vejita was the one who killed his counterpart, Nappa. Not Gokou. Well, Vejita recovers and heads off to Namic where other dragonballs are. Piccolo found out that he was originally a namic. And since he died during the battle, Gokou's friends, Kulilin, Buruma, and his son Gohan head off to namic to get the dragonballs.
That's when the real adventures start. If your interested in watching the show, my advice is that if you want to basicly get the feel for what the show is about then it's on cartoon network, at 5:00 pm. E/P time. But it's an extremely cheesy version of the original so if you crave the real thing, you're gonna have to buy it. Sorry. I don't even have the original version of it. I'm savin' my pennies.
