My grandfather, Harlan Ford, who was a highly respected member of the FAA,
was the first person to report an encounter with an illusive man-like beast
known worldwide today as the Honey Island Swamp Monster.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A BIG BUDGET HOLLYWOOD FILM. THIS IS A HANDS-ON SELF-PRODUCED DOCUMENTARY MADE WITHOUT A BUDGET. SO IF SOME OF THE SOUND IS NOT PERFECT AND SOME OF THE LIGHTING IS NOT GREAT, I APPOLOGIZE. SOMETIMES I JUST HAD TO GET THE SHOT OR STORY WHEN IT WAS AVAILABLE TO GET. Ford was the first person to pour plaster tracks in the area where he came face to face with the creature. He believed that the tracks he later found, could have been made by the same beast he saw in 1963. Several people have tried to discredit his sighting. Country folk who were serious hunters didn't want outsiders interrupting their hunting ground, so they claimed it was all a big hoax and had proof. But, those who knew Harlan Ford, never doubted his story.

* The truth about the fake tracks glued on a shoe used by documentary filmmakers, Marlon Davis & Jay Michael to try and discredit my grandfather. * My film will show how the original plaster track and the fake shoe track are not matches, nor was it my grandfather's shoe size. Anyone could make a fake plaster shoe track with an existing plaster paris track. My grandfather gave out many copies of the track back in 1974. * My grandfather never claimed to have witnessed the creature make the tracks. He only assumed that because the tracks were found in the realm of where he first encountered the beast, that they could have been made by it.

Harlan Ford was not alone when he first encountered the man-like hairy beast. His co-worker, Billy Mills, who also worked for the FAA was with him on a hunting trip. We located Mills in Texas and he agreed to talk on camera for the first time about their encounter.

* The fact remains that over thirteen eye-witnesses to my knowledge have encountered the mysterious creatures in Honey Island Swamp.
That is why I decided to make the documentary about the legend.

In my documentary film, I locate several more recent eye-witnesses and record their story retold on film for the first time. We also go by boat to a remote area that was hard hit by Katrina, hardly able to penetrate because of the fallen trees. Deep into the swamp, near the muddy bank, we discover fresh tracks leaving the water, crossing over large cypress logs, heading into the dry woods.

These tracks were very similar to the original tracks found by my grandfather. We did not see what made them, so we are only assuming they could have been made by the same thing or offspring.

My documentary film also shows Harlan Ford's Actual Super-8 film footage (AS SEEN ON FOX NEWS) of a man-like hairy, bigfoot creature walking upright through the dense foliage. Ford captured the footage from a camouflaged tree blind. The reel was discovered by my grandmother in his belongings after he died.
It was labeled, "Honey Island Swamp Monster." When she learned that I was making the documentary, she agreed to give me the reel to see what could be on it. We were stunned. You may be also!

Dana Holyfield, has compiled a fascinating, hands-on documentary compiling her research into the mysterious beast said to roam the swamps. This docu-drama has the eerie feel of the infamous LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK from the '70s, as she patrols the river bottoms with hunters and witnesses who for the first time ever speak of their encounters with the hairy critter. There are also some impressive findings in the form of footprints left in the muddy banks as well as her grandfather's own footage of the monster which he filmed in the '60s. Documentaries such as this are hard to come by, and I can't recommend it enough, because we've all heard of the HONEY ISLAND SWAMP MONSTER, yet know so little about it, so this dvd is the best guide to the swamp.

I just watched the DVD. It is fantastic. Thank you for your efforts in putting this film together. I am a member and Louisiana State Director of the American Anthropological Research Foundation. Our goal is to prove beyond any doubt that these wonderful beings exist and then to get them the protection they must have. The last thing we want or need is for someone to kill a being like this. Please spend a few moments visiting our website at Trueseekers.org I am more convinced than ever that these Forest Giants are much more widespread and numerous than anyone thought. These people in your film are not hallucinating. Many of the folks you interviewed have been in the swamps their entire lives. Folks like that are not prone to fantasy and illusion. As a general rule, you can take what they say to the bank.
