LEGEND OF THE LOUISIANA HONEY ISLAND SWAMP MONSTER - A FILM BY DANA HOLYFIELD 60 minutes.
Review Written by Neil Arnold in the UK.
Dana Holyfield, has compiled a fascinating, hands-on documentary compiling her research into the mysterious beast said to roam the swamps.
This docu-drama has the eerie feel of the infamous LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK from the '70s, as she patrols the river bottoms with hunters and witnesses who for the first time ever speak of their encounters with the hairy critter.
There are also some impressive findings in the form of footprints left in the muddy banks as well as her grandfather's own footage of the monster which he filmed in the '60s.
Documentaries such as this are hard to come by, and I can't recommend it enough, because we've all heard of the HONEY ISLAND SWAMP MONSTER, yet know so little about it, so this dvd is the best guide to the swamp.

REVIEW
by Robert P. "Louisiana State Director of the American Anthropological Research Foundationwrote"
I just watched the DVD. It is fantastic. Thank you for your efforts in putting this film together.
I am a member and Louisiana State Director of the American Anthropological Research Foundation. Our goal is to prove beyond any doubt that these wonderful beings exist and then to get them the protection they must have. The last thing we want or need is for someone to kill a being like this. Please spend a few moments visiting our website at Trueseekers.org I am more convinced than ever that these Forest Giants are much more widespread and numerous than anyone thought. These people in your film are not hallucinating. Many of the folks you interviewed have been in the swamps their entire lives. Folks like that are not prone to fantasy and illusion. As a general rule, you can take what they say to the bank.
Sincerely,
Robert P.

I watched it last night & again just now. Your film, showing real persons telling their stories in their own words, every minute of your film comes across as the real truth, totally belivable & athenticate giving the unvarnished facts. Those who have a very sincere interest in such things, & who really wants to learn something more about the Honey Island Swamp Monster, your film is at the very top of the Cryptozoology must see list.
Thanks. C.Sanders.

I am Dana Holyfield the Grand-daughter to the late Harlan Ford (first reported a sighting back in 1974)
I have created this definitive documentary of this elusive beast, known worldwide as the Louisiana Honey Island Swamp Monster. This film takes you deep into the wet swamplands that are believed to be the home of the legendary creature. We introduce you to many eye-witnesses, including Mr. Mills, co-pilot and co-worker to Harlan Ford, who was with him during the original sighting while on a hunting trip in 1963.
While filming my documentary, my grandmother decided to donate an old super-8 film reel that she found it in his belongings after he died in 1980.
It was labeled,"Honey Island Swamp Monster". We took out his old super-8 projector and watched it as I kept my camera rolling. We were amazed to discover actual footage captured by my grandfather from a tree-blind while hunting. I put the reel un-cut in my film so you can see it the way we saw it for the first time, of what appears to be a hairy, man-like creature walking upright through the swamp about 100 yards from where my grandfather was sitting in the treeblind.
The Legend of the Honey Island Swamp Monster has been around for many years, when my grandfather, Harlan Ford, first reported his sighting to the media in 1974 after he had poured plaster paris cast of tracks found in the swamp.
This is a track we actually found in the swamp and poured while making the documentary film.

My documentary was featured on FOX NEWS with Sean Hannity.
Footage was also featured on the Animal Planet in a show called LOST TAPES episode, "Swamp Creature." You will also see footage from my film on a cable TV SHOW called American Monsters.
Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean someone else didn't see it.
Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there.
The Honey Island Swamp connects with other swamps, from Southern Louisiana, all the way to Jackson Mississippi. There are places man has never stepped foot. The swamp is thick, especially after Hurricane Katrina Too many credible eye-witnesses have had encounters with it or them for me to think it is not possible. My grandfather was not the kind of man to fabricate such a legend. He was straight forward, dead serious about what he and his friend Billy Mills had encountered. He spent many years after that encounter, still in search of "The Honey Island Swamp Monster."

COMING SOON TO LOUISIANA'S HONEY ISLAND SWAMP AREA
CREATED BY DANA HOLYFIELD
DANA HOLYFIELD BIO
I grew up in the Honey Island Swamp area, spending much of my childhood on the Louisiana Pearl River at the family houseboat and rivercamp. After graduating from highschool, I ventured off to Dallas, Texas where I apprenticed with Cinemacorp, learning hands-on video editing and camera. Soon I made my way to Los Angeles, California where I spent eight years pursuing a career in the biz as a writer and filmmaker. I eventually teamed up with director, Jon Hess and co-wrote and produced a film titled, "Infidelity" that was distributed by Showcase Entertainment. Not hitting it big with that one, and growing homesick for my family and good old Louisiana, I ventured back home. Here, I decided to write about what I know best, life in Louisiana. I wrote and photographed a book, Swamp Cookin' With The River People," that was published by Ten Speed Press. Then spun off a sequal, "More Swamp Cookin'." I published the popular, "Cajun Sexy Cookin'" cookbook and a few other cookbooks. Knowing there was still a serious interest in the Honey Island Swamp Monster, I wrote a book titled, "Encounters With The Honey Island Swamp Monster." From the continuous interest in the creature from people all over the world, I decided to produce and film the documentary, "Legend Of The Honey Island Swamp Monster." I intend to build the official Honey Island Swamp Monster Museum in the very near future where people can come in person and view an exibit and learn more about the Honey Island Swamp Monster and the swamp it lives in.
You can purchase the film on my website for $9.95 plus $3.95 shipping and handling
