Christin's Accident

Christin, Our Angel of Courage

Christin loved her brother, Todd, very much. On
the evening of Saturday, April 4th, 1998, she was
dogsitting for Todd's dog, Zack, at her apartment.
Somehow, during the night, Zack got out and Christin
and her roommate, Aleisha, went looking for him.

They finally found him hit by a car in the middle
of a highway. Christin instinctively went to the
dog's aid. She was standing over him, waving her
arms trying to keep him from being hit again, when
she was struck by a truck, the driver not seeing her.

Christin was taken to the hospital and it was there
that she was determined to have fatal head injuries.
She never regained consciousness. Her family held
her hands for the final hours of her life as life
slowly slipped away. Finally, at 6:44 pm on Palm
Sunday, April 5, 1998, Christin died, having given
her life in an act of love. . . Zack died also.

Her death exemplified the love she carried with her
throughout her life. She will be remembered most
for her love for others and for her zeal for life.

An Angel with Courage

Sometimes we meet someone

who has a heart of gold.
Their light shines in the darkest hour.
They give warmth when it's cold.

They never give a moments thought
to the danger they unfold.
Protecting others came first to them.
Oh what a trait to behold~!,

This is the same story of your life.
And you showed it at the end.
You gave your life to save another...
To save the life of Man's best friend.

Not many would have done what you did.
They simply would not have cared.
But you, in all your love & splendor,
Saw a life to be spared.

You did what you knew you had to do.
Oh, but the price that you had to pay.
You entered Heaven with your courage,
but it is still felt on earth today.

Your bravery showed forth that day...
But your life was the sacrifice.
Not many would do what you did.
For it would be too high a price.

This was the same story of your life.
And yes, you showed it to the end.
You gave your life to save another...
To save the life of Man's best friend.
