DeSoto Fire District is dedicated to having the best trained Firefighters in North Louisiana. District 8 can provide its community with a vast array of services including, but not limited to: Emergency Medical Services, Fire Suppression, Fire Safety and Prevention, Risk Assessment, Rescue, Haz-Mat and Civil Defence Support. Fire District 8 has on staff 9 Louisiana State University certified Fire Service Instructors and a large training facility which covers an acre or so. Our training grounds consist of a repelling tower, burn pit, burn building, and a LPG prop. We also host an annual fire school in the first week of February for firefighters of North Louisiana.
