You
suddenly find yourself in a dense forest. Trees press in all around you;
their dense canopy above blocking out all but a mottled pattern of dim
illumination about you. You look around, not sure how you got here....or
why you came here, of all places. In any direction you turn.. there is
nothing but trees. The undergrowth is sparse in places and impassable in
others.
For a moment, you pause to consider your situation. Deciding to choose
a direction seems your best move at the moment. Turning to your right you
pick your way between the trees, trying to avoid random brambles. As you
move along, you begin to notice something that somewhat resembles a path
leading deeper into the woods. Decidedly, any sign of civilization is a
good one. You begin to follow the trail, hoping that it is a trail used
by humans rather than some rabbit run.
The trees are more widely spaced now, allowing more light to filter down
through their vast branches. This wood gives you the impression that those
trees have been there longer than rememberable.... that somehow they just
seem to be watching... listening... but no.. they're trees afterall.. aren't
they?
The path becomes wider and ahead you can finally see a break in the trees;
you absently notice that this part of the path is lined with curious mushrooms.
After a few more minutes of walking, short in comparison to what seems
like the eon you have already spent in the forest, you emerge from the
edge of the wood in a beautiful meadow. In the center of the meadow stands
a small cottage, covered and surrounded by hundreds of different types
of flowers. A stream babbles beside it and empties into an almost mirror
still pond, surrounded by willows. A soft glow is coming from a window
of the cottage and a thin plume of smoke rises from the chimney, promising
inhabitants within. Perhaps the owner of this beautiful place can show
you the way out. Click on the Image to Enter.
