What are you aiming at?

I once read a little saying that went like this: "You can't direct the wind, but you can adjust your sails." I read another saying that goes something like this: "You don't change your goal just because you run into a detour, you just change your direction to get there."

We all have goals (future plans, etc.) of thing that we want to see accomplished in the future. With these goals always ahead of us, we keep plugging toward that goal until it is accomplished and we feel super when we finally get there! I believe that we all must have some goals in life to give us something to work for, something to live for, and something to push for. Some of our goals are short range goals, some are long range goals. Some of the goals we make are personal goals, some are mental goals, some are physical goals and some are spiritual goals.

Here is a great goal to shoot for: To be the best person that I possibly can be and to help others to be the very best that they can be. To make this goal a reality, we have to rely on God and His leading. We must reach deep down inside of ourselves and find those talents and special dormant strengths that God has given us and draw them out and build them up for service to others. This will mean some stretching, some pain, lots of effort and pushing ourselves to the limit at times. The apostle Paul once wrote "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." And we can - and we will!
