PARTY CRASHER the feature film debut from writer/director, Mark Mason, will be distributed nationally this October 17th by FirstRites, a subdivision of the distribution company, The Asylum. It will be carried in every Hollywood Video store in the United States and promises to be the best horror offering this Halloween.
‘Party Crasher’ tells the story of 16 year old Henry (Randy Ackerman), the sheltered son of rich parents, Mr. And Mrs. Primo, who plays host to a birthday party thrown in his honor. All is going as planned until the twisted Jim Kizay (Tom Wescott) slips Henry an almost lethal dose of narcotics. A body count ensues and Henry, warped by the poisoning, is locked away in an insane asylum. Flash ahead 15 years...Mr. And Mrs. Primo have arranged to have the adult Henry (Mark Mason) brought back to their home, now turned into a maximum security fortress. They soon realize he is not the son they remember. The drugs given to him so many years before have demented him past the point of rehabilitation, the only positive side effect being his new found ability of telekinesis. Henry knows what everybody is thinking, but they don’t know what is on his mind...Revenge. Until, one night, Henry escapes, and with the aid of a large butcher knife, creates an unforgettable night of terror.
Shot on 16mm film with a budget of $100,000, first time director, Mark Mason, has created a very unique, very attractive film within a sub-genre not known for it’s originality. Combining elements from his two favorite horror films, ‘Halloween’ and ‘Carrie’, Mason breathes new life into the slasher film, offering up a wide variety of interesting adult characters, including Tom Wescott as the sadistic Jim Kizay and Jeff Howard as Henry’s loyal best friend, Kenny. Also featured is the inimitable Howard Hammick as Kizay’s silent sidekick, Speedy.
Plans are in action to give ‘Party Crasher’ a very unique promotional opening, and if all goes well a sequel is inevitable.
