Green Lantern Bio's

Kyle Rayner

Kyle Rayner is the current Green Lantern. Given his power ring by Ganthet, the last Guardian of the Universe, Kyle has tried to learn how to be a hero and to fill the shoes of his predecessor Hal Jordan. An artist by trade, Kyle uses his ring in very imaginitive and creative ways.

Jade

Jenny Hayden has been round Super-Heroes all her life. Her father was Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern. She was raised in an orphanige not knowing who her parents were. Jenny started her career as Jade, pictured here. She fought alongside all of the greats of the DCU. Now she lives with Kyle Rayner and was awarded the power ring left to Kyle by Hal Jordan. Jenny is the first in a new GL Corps. In issue 112, jade had her ring stolen by the villain Fatality, an dis no longer a Green Lantern.

John Stewart

John Stewart was among the first African-American super heroes to appear as the main character in a major comic. John was picked to be a Green Lantern by Hal Jordan, and took over as the GL of 2814 when Jordan went away for a while. John's GL career was full of tragedy though, due to an excess of attitude, the Mosaic was lost in battle and also, John lost his wife. Recently, John Stewart gave up the power that Hal Jurdan had used to heal his legs and saved both Kyle and Jenny from the villainess Fatality. Now paralyzed again, John's future in the super hero world is unclear.

Hal Jordan

Hal Jordan was the premier Green Lantern of the Green Lantern Corps. Hal recieved his ring from a member of the Corps, Abin Sur, upon his dying breath. Hal had many great adventures in his tenure as GL of Sector 2814 and even founded the JLA. Hal's career turned downward after the destruction of Coast City and the people he loved.(See Parallax in the Villains Section)

Alan Scott

Alan Scott was the first human to assume the mantle of Green Lantern. Alan found a glowing green lantern one day while he was working in a coal mine(workin' down, down, down) and fashioned a portion of the lantern into a ring that he could wear. Assuming the name of the Green Lantern, Alan was a founding member of the Justice Society of America. Alan now goes by the name of Sentinel and has basically retired from active adventuring. He now lives in Gotham City. After losing control of his powers as Sentinel, Alan is now a normal old man with only a fraction of the power he had as Sentinel. He has returned to the Green Lantern costume that he had worn in his earlier adventuring days.
