WHAT DOGS DO FOR US

Keep a night alone from being truly alone.
Get us outside on beautiful fall days,
rainy days and snowy winter days.
Listen to our singing.
Treat us like celebrities when we come home.
Warm up our beds on cold nights.
Make our hearts more vigorous.
Help us live a little longer.
Make us smile.
Agree with everything we say.
Warm our knees with their chins.
Signal when a thunderstorm is coming.
Pull sleds.
help lower our blood pressure.
Test how fast we can run.
Keep the squirrels from overtaking our yards.
Teach us the meaning of Unconditional Love.

Here's a photo of my "girls"
Mandy and Chrissy our 8 year old Golden Reterivers...they are sisters and inseperstable...they are the sweetest and funny dogs I know. Mandy is the little lady with an "attitude" and Chrissy is the "clown" she's very laid back and smiles all the time......

This is them sleeping...during the cold New England winters, they curl up together>

Snuggles and Prissy are this "webmasters" to pets. They are toy poodles,
Snugs (as we call him) is 9 years old, and Priss is 6 years old. Snugs is a Grrrrrr...he has a temper and you do things for him when he is "ready", it has to be on his terms or it's a no go. I remember one time when he was outside and he was rolling in the grass and I yelled at him "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING" and he stopped in mid air, he looked so funny, he was on his back and all four legs were straight in the air. He didn't move for a long time, it was like he was froozen in time. He will roll in grass, dirt, mud, and anything else he can find to roll in. He won't roll in "anything" that is "wet"...this is one dog who "hates" a bath, but I love him just the same.

Prissy is another thing, she's 6 years old...my hubby calls her a "nitwit", she's ditzy sometimes...she'll do anything or you can do anything to her. She's laid back, lazy, sweet, you name it...that's my Prissy. She loves to root under the covers, and how she can even breathe there I'll never know. She got stung one time by a bumble bee (the bee was attached to her stub of a tail) and was running around in circles trying to get the bee off of her..with no luck. I had to grab her and pull the bee off. Since then she is scared of anything that buzzes...she runs when she hears it. She also stays away from the grain silo's (that's where the bee stung her). I guess dogs never forget somethings. I don't know what I would do if something would ever happen to them, I love them dearly.

"This is my best friend in the entire world: Jake Causey"

[IMAGE]

*Owner of Jake: Matt Causey*

If I'm sick, he's right beside my bed as I recover;
If I'm tired, and not feeling like doing anything except collapsing,
he's right by me side;
If I'm angry, and feeling misunderstood, he's right by my side;
If I'm happy, and excited, he's right there to romp in my glory, right by my side.

It means, no matter what time of day, no matter what kind of day, Jake will always be there with me, always on my side, always loving me.

It's hard to explain this dog, and would take a page after page after page.
He is truly like no other. His keen sense of awareness, his unique, funny personality, I just could go on forever.

I remember the time he escaped from my grandfather's backyard. I rode round and round that city's neighborhood, calling, pleading to the heavens he'd appear alive. I remember how empty inside I felt, how desolate, how crushed I felt.
I remember when I drove back home, empty handed, thinking "there will never be another dog like this." Later that same evening, I just went for a long walk to try and walk off my pain. I was about two streets over when he just appeared out of nowhere from someones yard! Boy was he glad to see me, and was I EVER SO GLAD TO SEE HIM. I think that was the second time in my life that I actually cried. I literally carried that dog, all 80+ pounds of him, back home.

I'll never forget that very moment.

Just like I'll never forget this dog. he is simply the best.
