BUCKLE UP, sit back...cause your on your way for a cool ride. Take a trip with John to Missouri, go through Ohio, Pennsylvania, up to New York and where ever else he travels.
This is a photo of John's rig that he drives. He drives for a trucking company out of Magnolia, Arkansas. He calls this truck, his "condo rig". The rig has two beds, one on top of the other. On the last run I went with John, he took top bed and I took the bottom bed, no falling out of bed for 'um waa' here. There's a place for a frig (if you can afford one), there's two small table's that fold out, and a place for his TV. You also can standup in the sleeper area. All the comforts of home.
John's an alert and cautious driver.."knock on wood". He has six safty awards. I'am not saying he hasen't had any misshaps, there's been a few close calls, even when I was with him. Thank God none of them were his fault. LOL...ofcourse I'am bias.
I love traveling with John, I don't go as much as I use too. It can be expensive, especially if you eat in resturants. So we stock up on grocery and put them in a ice chest, we also buy non-pershable items, like things you can eat right out of the can or box. We have taken our two poodles with us...FUN !! But they did great, both were scared at first, until they got use to being up high in the truck. We don't take them with us all the time.
Here's John getting ready to go on a run, to where...who knows. The frist thing he does, is fill up his jug with ice and water. Boy, can this guy drink water.
John's on his way to Missouri to unload. I went with him on this trip or a run, which ever you want to call it. Since these picture's were taken John has started with another trucking Company. I will have more pics of his newest travels, just give me a little time.
Here we are sitting and waiting to get unloaded in Missouri. Sometimes we wait for hours and hours. While were waiting, we watch TV, John has one in the truck ( if we can find a station close by ), or take a nap. There are some places that we can walk around while we wait, and there are some places you don't even want to get out of your truck and walk around.
Now we are going through Ohio. John says that he loves going through Ohio, and there's a few things going for it, and that is: Ohio has beautiful countryside and there farms, great coffee and my sister's BJ and Donna, and that's all. D.O.T. ( Department of Transpartation ) and the Police are rough on truck drivers. That's the way all the truckers see Ohio. If you ask me their rough on everybody, but then, that's one persons opinion.
Here we are, going to Hamburg Pennsylvania. Going to a Pepsi Warehouse, so we had to go right through the middle of town to get there. This town is the prettest place. It's a historical town ( not quit sure of what ), all I know is, that there where shops on both sides of this narrow street. John had to make a left hand turn and there were cars parked everywhere and we had to find the person who's car was blocking our turn, so he could move his car. What a mess that day was.
John took the next two pictures while on his way to somewhere in New York. He's going through Baldwin NY in these photos. John doesn't like snow ( who does ) in fact, John hates snow. When winter is here, he wants to hide. John still can't figure out what snow is good for, who does know !!. I grew up in Ohio and I do miss the snow and playing in it. I love it when it snow's down here ( it has, don't laugh ).
Children love it in the winter. School's out for one thing, and they take their sleds out and trudge up hill, just to slide down hill, and turn around and do it all over again. My sister and I played on a hill called Huntingtons Hill ( correct me if I'am wrong BJ ) and we had a blast. We had a fire going at the top of the hill, we would get nice and warm and then slide down the hill...climb back up...get warm again, and do it all over. Gosh but it was so much fun, and I do miss it.
I took this photo of John getting in his truck. I'll have a much newer pic of John and his truck here soon. I like to surprise John when taking his picture ( he doesn't ), I can get a better shot of him ( then he says, 'grrrrrr' ).
Check this pic out. For a man who doesn't like snow, he walks around in it, wearing a shirt and no jacket. Explain that to me !!! This is a place called Silver Creek, New York. John used to stop here a lot and fuel up ( when he worked for another trucking company ).
I liked it because they have gambling here and you can buy these thingy's called rip off's, it's like lotto scratch off's. I won ten dollars one time, on a fifty cent buy, and that bought me a carton of cigs. Cigarette's are cheap here also.
Silver Creek is also an Indian Reservation, I'am not sure of the name. Several years ago the Indians were on a uprising about being taxed on something or other, and they were in the news ( TV and papers ).
Here we are leaving Silver Creek after fueling up. There's also a resturant here, and they have very good food.
GUESS WHO !!! Yep, this is John coming home from a trip. Like I said, I love taking his photo, when he least expects it. YeeeeHaaaaaaaa :o)
ARE WE HAVING FUN YET!!!!!!
Well....that's all for now. Come back often for new pictures of John's travels. The wheels spin and spin, and we never know where he's going !!!!!!
Bye...hurry back.
WOW....John got an Award.
Way to go John.
