At dad's, a huge hornet's nest, and those little annoying balls of plaster that fall all over the place. Mom's just has the plaster balls, and the apartment has those REALLY high ceilings like all old southern homes have...so I really can't see if it's got those plaster balls, but I'm pretty sure it's smooth.
