Our resident double reed expert is Bob Riggs who has a well rounded background in all phases of music. In the Air Force during the 60's he played bassoon and oboe in the bands including a stay in the prestigious Air Force Academy Band. In the 70's he was the principle bassoonist with the Atlantic City Orchestra, Halifax, Canada. Moving to Los Angeles in the late 70's he has remained an active performer. Most recently in April of 1995 he left with the 20th Anniversary International Tour of "A Chorus Line". His teaching credits are long; Most notible was an eleven year assignment was from 1981 to 1993 as double reed coach for the Valley Youth Symphony at California State University, Northridge.

We don't stock anything and being a unique operation we have personal and detailed ways of doing things. For example, with the overhead and time consumption of reedmaking, it is not feasible to spend too much time on the telephone. So, even though the reeds are customised, using the mail is encouraged. Lots of time is given to the finsihing touches of our world famous bassoon reeds, this makes them a different class of bassoon reed then any other on the market please ask about our instruction audio tape concerning reed adjustment.

Above all we are always open to your needs and take all suggestions seriously. We may even be able to get you some items at a lower cost than others if you don't mind waiting for us to special order it for you.
