Magick is very difficult to explain. Very few have any real explanation of what magick is, how it works or what it really means. This is partly because is a very difficult concept to realize and partly because we rarely give thought to why or how. Magick is a very important part of the craft...it's there, whatever it is and it works.

Magick is a highly personal thing and only you can find the true meaning. Magick is a part of us, it is within us, we are magickal beings whether we are aware of it or not.

This magick is not the stereotypical "black", "supernatural", slight of hand" magic most people are familiar with. Most Wiccans would agree that Magick might appear to be "supernatural" but it is a power of force that is quite natural. It is not all "bells, books and candles"(magickal paraphernalia) as many believe.

Magick is an energy - a vast, ever moving and flowing energy - raised by means such as meditation or dancing and then physically directed at a specific goal....to heal an illness...to attract love...to remedy a bad situation.

When you learn that we as human beings emit an enormous amount of energy you can begin to understand how magick works. The trick is learning to control that energy. The more you are in tune with yourself and your goals, the more you can control this energy. Once you can control it... the physical energy coming from inside your living being and from the power of your thoughts... you can then send it out toward your goal. That energy goes out and interacts with and acts upon all the other energies out there. The stronger the force that you send the more chance you have of accomplishing your goal. This is one reason why witches tend to work in groups. If I have a goal and can control the energy that I am putting out and you have the same goal and can control the energy that you are putting out it is twice as likely that we will obtain our goal than if we were working alone. It is very simple... theres more energy being directed at the same goal.

Magick is a state of mind and a Goddess given gift which plays a major role in the religion of Wicca. Some need to practice often to fine tune their magickal skills while others seem to be blessed with more of a natural apptitude for it.

It is the guiding light within all of us. There is Magick in beautiful poetry - there is Magick in wildflowers blowing gently in the breeze - there is Magick in love and dreams. Magick radiates in everything that lives and dies. Each of us is as powerful as we need to be to develop our desires without the need to abuse others, ourselves and this earth on which we live.

On your Magickal journey you should learn: *everything is interrelated *the importance of secrecy and silence *to practice will and discipline *to overcome fear of success *personal empowerment *your path to self realization *there are things that you must do yourself *to accept there are some things you can not change *to acquire determination *to focus your will and emotions to cause change in both the world around us and more importantly, within us.
