Betty, which is a girl/dork sk8 zine. Betty started off
as Train Trax, but then I got sick of the name. Train
Trax started off with the intention of being a zine that
reflected all girl skaters. Betty (the issue following
Train Trax) focuses more on my own style of skating,
which I call dork skating. I chose the name Betty for my zine because "betty" is a word used to insult and undermine girl skaters, pass us off as dumb and make us seem pathetic. I decided I don't want "betty" to be an insult anymore, it's something to be proud of! GETTING BETTY AND TRAIN TRAX IN PAPER FORM: The paper versions have more stuff than what is on here and also have pictures and things, so they are worth getting. If you live in New Zealand, both issues are available for one dollar and an 80c stamp, or trade. If you live overseas, it's easier if you send me a trade.
