Meeting     The Hoops

Thursday at 9.30 pm in the home of the champions, The Beehive Bar, Glaslough Street, Monaghan

Fly the Flag

Celtic ended a 10 year wait for the title on Saturday when they beat St. Johnstone 2-0. It was definitely a day of double delight, while it was fantastic to see Tom Boyd lift the trophy, it was also particularly sweet that our greatest rivals were denied the one thing they craved above all else.

Henrik LarssonCeltic got off to a dream start after only three minutes when Henrik Larsson swept in from the left to beat Main from 20 yards and send Parkhead wild in celebration. Celtic continued to create chances and after a great pass by Tom Boyd released Jackie McNamara with 17 minutes remaining, his inch perfect cross was put away by Harald Brattbakk to silence his critics and signal the greatest outpouring of emotion and celebration the new Parkhead has yet seen.

Celtic were champions and 10-in-a-row was dead!

The club would like to thank the players and management for giving all true Celtic fans this season of glory and we're looking forward to the next nine seasons.

Cheer Up Walter Smith

The title winning celebrations will get into full swing when the club will hold our "Cheerio to 10 in a row/Cheer up Walter Smith" party in the Beehive on Saturday, 16th May, from 8.30 onwards. The Mallons will provide the music and all local Celtic fans are invited along.

Season Review

Any member who wishes to contribute or help with the forthcoming review of the season programme should get in contact with the club.

And Finally

Congratulations to club member Jonathan Douglas and European U-16 Championship winner. to our friends in The Star newspaper, the novena failed and who's laughing now Paddy? And to Bertie who wanted to meet the players but they only wanted to meet the President. Unfortunately for them, the Ard Fheis was on in Dublin at the same time!

To all our members, OUR DAY HAS COME, enjoy the summer ! ! ! !
