Welcome to the Nativity of The Blessed Virgin Mary Church Online Youth Page. We welcome Michael Sujek as our music director and youth minister. He has moved here from Michigan and is the youngest of three children. He graduated from college with an Economics degree in 1994 but has always loved music. Michael says, "Jesus has become the focus of my music and He has given me a heart of worship. It is the desire of my heart to praise Him and to lead others into that intimate worship experience with Him. God does desire to love us. He does desire to be known by us. I believe that we can be one with Him as we learn to give ourselves to Him in the music." SCHEDULE OF EVENTS May 16, 1999. Confirmation Mass at Nativity Church. 10:00 A.M. The Bishop will be coming up from Alexandria to empower the youth as leaders in the church and to anoint them with the Chrism oils. Mass at St. Joseph's will be cancelled that day. A covered dish will follow the celebration. Seven youths will receive Confirmation. Come celebrate with them and feel the Holy Spirit. June 25-27, 1999. Steubenville South. A weekend conference for the youth that will allow us to be with thousands of youth from the South and to experience together the Love that God has for each one of us. July, 1999. White water rafting trip to Ocoee, Tennessee (near Chattanooga). Two day trip to camp, kayak, rock climb, do a ropes course, and go white water rafting on the Hiwasee River (site of the 1996 Olympics). August, 1999. Take a mission trip to Juarez, Mexico to spend a week working with the poor. Summer, 1999. Pilgrimage to San Antonio, Trip to the Lord's Ranch in Texas, Coffee Houses in Alexandria, Fishing Trips, Pool Parties, Movie Nights, Dances, 4th of July, Lock-Ins, Holy Hours Bible Studies, Music Festivals, Softball, Basketball, Volleyball. FUND RAISING -- some good ideas that Michael has suggested. 1)Host a car wash at Wal-Mart in Natchitoches. 2)Grow a garden and serve dinner to our parents. 3)Hold an All-Night party. 4)Host a fishing tournament. 5)Host a 5K Road Race. 6)Can Collection. 7) Food (e.g.)Ham Raffle, Bake Sale, Coffee & Donuts, Pancakes. If you have any other ideas, tell Michael. We need funds so that we can take all of the cool trips. Remember every Sunday evening from 7:15 to 8:30 at Holy Cross Church (Natchitoches), Fr. Dan and Fr. Jose have a prayer meeting, in addition to song, prayer and sharing. A short teaching on receiving the fullness of the Holy Spirit and his wonderful gifts that he bestows on us, just for the asking.
