Lewis Racing

Welcome to the 4 modified racing website, my name is Dondra and I am the web-mistress. I used to call it Lewis Racing but now I‘m not sure what to call it.
Here is just a little history on Lewis Racing of Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. It started in the 70’s with my dad, Bobby and his brothers; Steve, John, Benny & Morton. They raced for almost four years at several dirt tracks around Louisiana. After they had families the racing just fizzled away.

In 1995 a dirt track opened in Many, LA, close to our hometown. That is when my brother Robert started racing. He started out in the superstock class. (There are pictures of that car on our picture link). Robert chose to use the 09 number, the same one my dad raced with. After two seasons he moved to IMCA Modifieds. During that time most tracks raced the sanctioned IMCA class. The Lewis family became very involved in racing again. The first modified purchased was a Castens Chassis out of Oklahoma. That car really went through some flips and rollovers so it was appropriately named the Timex. As in it takes a licking but keeps on ticking slogan.

After couple race seasons in the Castens car it was decided a new chassis was needed. A White Lightning Chassis was purchased. It was then decided that a change would be made and the number went from 09 to 4. That White Lighting was raced from 2000-2003.
In 2003 Bobby decided that he needed a brand new chassis. After deliberating on what type of chassis to purchase he decided to get another White Lightning chassis. That is the current car that we race. Robert raced each car winning several heat & features races at different tracks across Louisiana over the years. This year for the 2005 season Robert's job prevents him from being off on Saturday nights so he doesn’t get to race the car. Bobby still enjoyed racing and didn’t want to give it up so he searched for a driver. The car is now driven by Clay Walker of Bossier City. He races the car most of time at Champion Park Speedway. .They have raced at Sabine Raceway a few times as well.

Well guess who decided they needed a new race car? That's right the Lewis brothers. Once racing season was over a Allen chasis was purchased.
